About Bunaken

The Bunaken Diving Resort is located on Bunaken Island in Bunaken National Park, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Bunaken, formerly known as Manado, is the second largest city in North Sulawesi Province of Indonesia, located at the northern tip of the island (1 degrees 29 minutes north latitude and 124 degrees 50 minutes east longitude), bordering the Sulawesi Sea. The dry season from June to October and the rainy season from November to March, although even during rainy seasons, it is often a quick shower and has little impact on the trip. There is a monsoon from July to August. However, there is no typhoon season on the island.

Bunaken is known as the epitome of diving in Manado, with a 25-kilometer-long underwater cliff known for its spectacular underwater world. Whether it's snorkeling or deep diving, the spectacular scenery is unparalleled. Over 300 types of coral and more than 3000 underwater creatures, stunning beyond words!

Q: What is the water temperature and visibility like in Bunaken?
A: The water temperature and visibility are consistently between 27-29 degrees Celsius (or 70-77 degrees Fahrenheit) in Bunaken, comfortably warm. Usually, it's sufficient to wear a 3mm dive suit for safety. The underwater visibility is usually over 25 meters (or 50 feet) in Bunaken, and can be as clear as 50 meters (or 165 feet), making the sea extremely clear and breathtaking.

Q: What are the leisure and entertainment facilities in Bunaken?
A: Unlike most commercial islands, Bunaken is a primitive island. The local residents still maintain a simple and natural lifestyle, with no bars and clubs, as well as no performers throwing flaming objects, simulating skydives or dragon diving.

Q: What about the restaurants in Bunaken?
A: Bunaken is a natural preserve, and there are no commercial restaurants on the island. There are a few local snacks, that why we offer full meal package.

Lunch standards are 3 dishes 1 main dish + dessert; ingredients include fish, shrimp, or squid, seasonal vegetables.

Dinner standards are 1 soup 3 dishes 1 main dish, dessert; ingredients include chicken, pork, beef, seasonal vegetables.

Afternoon tea is served every day at 4:00 p.m.

A week of variations in cooking methods is attempted to minimize food tasting the same.

Note: The kitchen of the resort is not available to guests.

Q: What are the suppliments for toiletry?
A: We provide towels, shampoo and body lotion. However, for the protection of Bunaken National Park, towels won't be changed every day. Please inform us when you need to change it.
In the same way, we won't provide disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste. Please bring your own.

How can I get Fish in Air Bunaken dive resort 

We can arrange transportation from the airport or downtown Manado to our Resort. If you wish to depart from elsewhere, please contact us in advance. Due to the lack of navigation at night, we only provide pick-up for flights departing before 17 o'clock and drop-off service for flights departing after 8AM. If you need our transportation service, please let us know at least 1 day in advance.

We will choose one of the following routes (blue+ red) depending on the tide situation. According to traffic conditions, it is a 30-minute drive from the airport to downtown Manado. From Manado Port to Bunaken, it takes about 20 minutes by boat.

You can also take a taxi from the airport to Manado, then choose to rent a boat at the port behind the Celebes Hotel, or take the public boat from the port at 2pm. (blue + yellow + white)
Note: The public transport boat is closed on Sunday. The price of public boat is 50.000 rp per person.
